Logo Animation
Halloween 2021

During my time at Cosmic Design, I had the opportunity to concept, design, and animate promotional videos displayed on the Lantern and Blade screens of Ottawa's National Arts Centre. Above is the main animation promoting the show Come From Away, which ran in 2021.

Process

For this Project, I collaborated with the web team at Inkbox to create a specialized, Halloween-themed logo animation that would happen upon a user loading the website. We decided that turning the drop at the end of the wordmark into a bat that would fly around would be a fun way of celebrating the brand's favorite holiday, especially during its busiest time of year.

I initially sent them 3 ideas. The chosen concept has the logo shrinking and the drop turning into a bat and flying around the logo. Some alternative options that unfortunately were not selected had the white space in the middle of the O following the bat like an eye watching the bat, and another version where the logo "goes ghost" and bats fly around in place of the logo.
This project was a lot of fun to work on and was a piece that made me want to keep pursuing motion design as a specialization.
